I saw an author somewhere else here on Substack do this, and I thought I’d try it.
I’ll tell you a secret: I’ve done something today that I generally scream from the housetops of social media. However, I want to see how many of my new friends on Substack are paying attention.
I can run a Free Book Promotion on Amazon, where Amazon will give away copies of one of my books for five days.
This time, it will run from tomorrow (Sunday, February 16th) through to the following Thursday. I do this occasionally, but this time, I’m only telling you Substack folks about it in this long text post, not in notes or anywhere else. So, if you’re reading this and it is not yet February 21st, you are one of the few to get this opportunity to download one of my Amazon Kindle books to your library this month. Amazon says that it is my most popular ebook. I can only do this with a particular book every ninety days.
It’s a great book; for part of the coming week, it's a free purchase. I’m tempted to hide this link behind a paywall to attract subscribers, but I must measure my reach on Substack. Kindle analytics will tell me how many of you grabbed this deal, but not who, so your privacy is guaranteed. I’m not telling anyone else, though I usually post links to my Substack writings on notes and social media. You can share this opportunity with others if you want, though. Your shares are part of the experiment.
Here’s the link. Click it, and Amazon will let you buy the book and add it to your Kindle library for $0.
Also, I'll need to know if you encounter any technical problems, so please comment.
Here’s the link…
Jim has enrolled in and been accepted to join a colonial expedition to Mars, but he can’t return home once he leaves. Refueling the rocket from the limited and undeveloped resources on Mars to return home might take these early colonists a lifetime.
At first, Jim looked forward to the adventure. However, we never know what life has in store, and as he undergoes his years of training, the reality of his commitment and its permanent consequences begin to sink in.
Will he go through with it, or will his alternate fill his seat on launch day?
This book is free Sunday through Thursday.
Don’t miss it.
